The information and resources in the palliAGED Practice Tip Sheets, palliAGED Introductory modules, and palliAGED Introductory modules manual have been produced to support those working in aged care and the residents/clients and their families.
The content is not intended to provide specific answers to questions, nor provide prescriptions or templates for practice. It is intended to facilitate access to information and to prompt staff and facilities to explore ideas and concepts and examine their existing practice.
It is each individual’s professional responsibility to judge the relevance and applicability of the content to the clinical context. Nothing can take the place of a comprehensive assessment of patient and carer needs, and of the usual processes that follow these assessments in providing individualised care. Individuals should seek professional medical care and advice as required.
These palliAGED resources for nurses also list tools that may be useful. This is not a recommendation or endorsement but serves to highlight the availability of tools that might be considered when providing care.
Information may change from time to time. This may be because further research is developed and becomes available. It may also change, as practice often does, according to what is available locally (e.g., particular medications) and the experience and expertise of local health professionals.
