For everyone

• If you need support with financial matters Services Australia have a financial information service that can give you information and education. They have service officers that can help you, as well as online information and seminars. This is a free service.
• The ELDAC website provides information for those caring for people who may be socially or financially disadvantaged.
• The cost of medications may increase as your palliative care needs increase. Visit Managing Medicines to learn more about medicines and the Pharmaceutical benefits scheme.
   

Older people

• Understanding the Cost of Aged Care can be difficult. Visit the My Aged Care website for more information.
   

Rural and remote areas

• Living rural and remote may cause extra financial strain, particularly as you may need to travel for treatment and take long periods away from your property. Services Australia provide information about payments and services for rural and remote Australians.
   

Veterans

• The cost of care can cause anxiety and stress when paying for palliative care services. The Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) provide many services for free.
• When you receive services funded by DVA, you may be eligible for a supplement to cover any additional care costs associated with your palliative care diagnosis. Visit DVA veteran supplement to find out more.
